A. Scholarships Available

National Society of Black Engineers

The foundation offers students several scholarships with the aim of encouraging diversity in the professions that historically lack African-American representation.
The Freescale Semiconductor Scholarship is just one among the many
Scholarships that they offer to students taking computer engineering and who are willing to work under Freescale Semiconductor after graduation. The recipient should maintain their 3.0 GPA to receive their $5,000 award. Another offering of the National Society of Black Engineers is the Lockheed Martin Scholarship. These are awards of up to $2,000 given to the junior or the senior students in the computer engineering program. An essay must be written by the recipient and they must agree in considering the option of working for the company after graduation. A $5,000 scholarship is provided by Microsoft to students with high academic performance with the requirement of a written essay focused on the value of technology outside the bounds of the classroom.

Maximum Allowable for Scholarship Recipient Award Value

These policies are recently established for the selected recipients of the NSBE scholarship awards.

2 Members who applied in more than 1 scholarship that includes an internship requirement should rank scholarship acceptance for awarding if they are selected as recipient. (The member is not allowed to accept both the internships in a given time period.
