Clarkson was established in 1896 in memory of Thomas S. Clarkson, a New York entrepreneur who died in an accident. His accident paved the way in building the university as it was initiated and funded by the Clarkson’s sisters; they decided to establish an educational institution that would embody his philosophy. The university was originally called Thomas S. Clarkson Memorial School of Technology and formally opened the classes on September 2 with 17 students enrolled. In 1933, the school’s name was renamed as Thomas S. Clarkson Memorial College of Technology, which was adopted in a reduced version as Clarkson College of Technology or CCT. On February 24, 1984, the New York State Board of Regent labeled Clarkson as a University as it had shown continuous growth and development.

Today, Clarkson University provides services to 3,187 enrolled students and has earned 70% overall graduation rate. The university functions as a private university situated in Potsdam, New York.

Degree in E-Commerce

The main emphasis of this degree is to convert “usual” business into an internet-based business with the principles of accounting, ecommerce, and business management incorporated to it. Handing web traffic and analysis of user characteristics is taught in this degree.
