Specialization
Degree in Electrical and Power Transmission
Students taking up a Degree in Electrical and Power Transmission can expect to learn technical skills and knowledge necessary to install electrical systems and interconnected power transmission lines. They have several options, as regards degree levels when taking up this program. If one is interested in an Associate Degree then he or she can enroll in an Associate of Applied Science in Electrical and Power Transmission Degree program which tackles the foundation of electricity and how it can be transmitted and managed more efficiently and safely. The course also includes an in-depth study of both alternating and direct current applications and theories as well as an overview of the power industry. Analysis of basic power components such as relays, substations and transformers are also given attention. Associate degree graduates are ready for entry-level work as an apprentice. On the other hand, students who are enrolled under a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering course can take up a Power Systems Engineering Certificate Program right after.
